These are primarily photographs taken on a motorcycle ride from Portland, OR to Vancouver, British Columbia. I had along a friend, Wendy, from the University of Wisconsin. This was actually the only extended motorcycle trip I ever took with a passenger. Wendy was also the best passenger I ever had, no issues about banking turns or curves. Actually, very little of the trip was captured on my camera. There seems to be nothing at all from Vancouver. There are also some photos from somewhere in eastern Oregon, Deschutes or John Day country I think.

This was my favorite glacier. I visited it several times and made it the subject of a computer modeling experiment. The model was built by hand digitizing a USGS quad map on key punch cards. Each modification to the model required taking the deck of cards to the computer center and coming back the next day for the results. This particular visit, I was accompanied by Adrian Morgan. We climbed into the bergschrund then crossed over it and then to the top of Koip Peak.

Sometime in May of 1975 we decided to take a weekend trip to the Sierras. We visited Mineral King and Sequoia National Park. This was about the time that Disney was pushing hard to develop another theme park in Mineral King, an undesignated area on the western slope. These are a few of the B&W photos I took there. The area was made part of Sequoia National Park in 1978.

These photos were taken on a day trip to the top of the Conness Glacier in either late August or early September of 1974. I was accompanied by Adrian Morgan, a long time friend and fellow adventurer.

These are photos taken on a day hike to the top of Mt Dana, across the arete and onto Dana Plateau. The arete crossing is not technical but also not for the faint of heart.

Accompanied by Adrian Morgan, we did not feel properly equipped to climb the glacier so there are no bergschrund shots.
