Roughing It - Book 4

Mark Twain is tired of the Nevada Territories and Virginia City so he decides to go to California. He's counting on his silver mine stocks to keep him warm but this proves to be fantasy. He goes broke and in fact becomes destitute. He takes up gold mining but again it is his skill as a reporter and journalist that bails him out. The book following sees him off to the Sandwich Islands.
